The mountains west of Amestris contain some of the most treacherous peakes of the land, they tower over the landscape, snow blankets their ranges all year around and the people that live in the shadow of these great beasts are as untameable as the peakes, themselves. It was only a few months ago that a report came in...and then another and then the deluge was brought to the higher-ups in Central. Along the Western Front, Military outposts were being overrun by harassing guerillas - supplies lines run, radio towers blown up, and most of all, the people of Amestris recruited into the organization. The rebellion fueled the resistent efforts in Central. MIlitary Intelligence found bands of ex-military personel roaming through the dark cewers of the City, while rogue alchemists led by the Former Freezing Alchemist, Issac McDougal ravaged the ghettos of Amestris.
My unit, the 2nd Reconnaissance Division, of Lt. Col. Louis Armstrong was sent in advance for surveying the guerillas and to retake some of the mountain outposts..

A dust cloud arouse in the distance, its trail could be seen for miles. Nearby jackrabbits ran for their burrows as the convoy of trucks made their way over the turbulent trail. Rocks ricocheted across the desert as the tires skidded across the landscape. The tires left deep impressions in the soil, drivers wiped the sweat from their brow with the back of the hands as they sat uncomfortably in the stiff leather seats. The scorching Amestris sun gave little mercy to the surrounding vegetation, as the only thing that could survive in this barren landscape were the underbrushs, the lizards, and the deadly poisonous snakes that roamed the rocky slopes, waiting for unlucky travelers to stubble upon the outcrop of which they would ambush from...
